If this is your first World Model email, welcome. I’m Cong. World Model covers finding and doing remote AI work: which roles fit your experience, what the work involves, and what to check before spending time on an application.
I write from experience as both a contributor and reviewer on AI projects, alongside job-market research and readers’ accounts of what actually happens after applying. We examine which opportunities fit, what platforms reward, where the restrictions are, and whether the work is worth your time.
Paid membership includes all World Model paid posts, access to clawded.ai, and the ability to DM me directly. clawded.ai is World Model’s beta job-matching tool. It connects your profile with verified remote AI openings across platforms. Use a match as a starting point: check the employer’s current listing, location rules, and pay terms before applying.

Where You Can Actually Work From: Which AI Training Platforms Accept You: An eligibility analysis of 2,384 roles across 27 platforms in the October 1 snapshot. Why “remote” does not necessarily mean you can work from anywhere.

Today, we will narrow your past experience into one target role and build a sample that shows you can do the work.
A small review of five clawded.ai member records revealed experienced professionals doing generalist work, a request to move from a generalist offer toward a specialty, and obstacles involving closed listings, location eligibility, and assessment feedback. These are anonymized observations from a limited sample, not hiring-success statistics.
Use clawded.ai matches to make a shortlist, not an application quota. For each role, write down the task it requires and one example of doing similar work. Customer escalations may be relevant to policy evaluation; purchasing may be relevant to checking budgets and delivery constraints. Keep a role on the shortlist only after checking both the work and your eligibility.
Before applying, ask: which task in this listing have I done, and what example can I use to show it?
If you cannot name an example, choose a narrower task or record the gap before applying.
Generalist Is an Entry Point, Not the Whole Strategy
You may still bill by the hour. The practical change is what you can demonstrate. Instead of saying “I can evaluate AI responses,” show a supplier comparison where you caught a minimum-order problem, or a support reply that violated a refund policy. Name the error, explain the consequence, and show how you would score the answer.
Generalist AI work can be useful. You learn to follow rubrics, compare responses, explain preferences, and handle review feedback. It can also pay while you figure out your next move. There is nothing wrong with taking that work.
The risk is making access to a generalist queue your entire career strategy. A queue belongs to a platform. Its staffing needs, task supply, and rules can change. Your ability to diagnose a recurring professional problem is something you can develop across clients and projects.
This is not a prediction that generalist work disappears. Build around a problem you understand deeply, not only around a platform that currently lets you work.
Consider OpenAI’s GDPval launch in September 2025: 1,320 tasks across 44 occupations and nine industries, developed and vetted by professionals averaging over 14 years of experience. Each task received five rounds of review on average. This is a benchmark, not a count of available jobs. But it shows what occupational knowledge can become: realistic assignments, reference deliverables, and rigorous evaluation.
Titles can mislead. A Mercor Generalist listing reviewed for this article advertised USD 80–160 per hour, while requiring a degree and at least two years of relevant experience. It is now closed. That advertised range is neither realized earnings nor a generalist market average. Read the work and requirements, not just the label.
The full article below gives you a niche scorecard, a work-memory extraction prompt, and a complete example of turning experience into a task and scoring rubric. The goal: one credible target role and one sample that shows why you fit.
