I am not sure how to do a DM but I can forward you the termination email. It was pretty generic just said :...the team has decided to conclude your involvement ..."

As for the timeline. I received a couple of emails the last week of June. I received 2 phone calls one on June 28th and on the 29th. I accepted and then called in to the on-boarding call on July 1st at 10:30. I was cut off and received the termination email at around 11:10 AM.

I am not sure why I was recruited in the 1st place if I was already on their cut list. I guess their recruitment system is not directly tied into their retention database. Seems a little sketchy to me

I had an odd experience working with them

The job is pretty unpleasant since you know never know when you will get a call and you can't plan. The hourly rate seems high but since you are paying both parts of the social security tax the marginal rate is above 50%.

On my last project I ignored the email but then received 2 AI calls. I thought then that they must be interested so I accepted. in the middle of the on-boarding call I was kicked out of the system and got a termination email.

no idea why.

Larry, this matches what I keep hearing, and I am sorry it happened mid-call. That detail matters: in the cases I have collected, a termination email that arrives that fast was queued by a flag, not decided by a human on the call. And the AI calls before it were automated retries, not interest.

Your point about the real rate after self-employment tax is fair and underdiscussed. I want to do that math properly in a future issue.

If you are willing, DM me the timeline and the wording of the termination email. I am building a case file on these exits and yours would help. Anonymized unless you say otherwise.
